This building is the former Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity (Apehouse) which was gutted and rebuilt into deluxe apartments in the 2001/2002 year. The location is great, just two blocks from the University of Iowa Art Museum and just west of the music building, Hancher Auditorium and City Park. On the ground floor there is a three-bedroom, a two-bedroom, a very large efficiency apartment, and a central laundry room. On the first floor there are two two-bedroom apartments and a very large one-bedroom apartment. The second floor has four one-bedroom apartments and one efficiency apartment. The third level is a three bedroom apartment with two full bathrooms. Two of the three first floor apartments are handicapped adaptable. Great care was taken to preserve the exterior look of this 1929 building. A Historic Preservation award was given for this renovation. Each apartment has a unique and different floorplan. These units provide a clean, healthy, and secure environment and are catered to graduate/PhD level students and/or professionals.

The three largest apartments have their own high efficiency heating and air-conditioning system. All other apartments have central hot water heat, individually controlled, and their own air-conditioning. Apartments that have hot water heat have that utility included in their rent. The building is a secure building and three of the apartments also have their own private exterior entrance.
